We had a great time baking today! We are heading to Birmingham to have Christmas with Nana and Pop this weekend, so the kids and I baked and decorated cookies to share with all the cousins. We made one big mess while having one BIG time. Dean ate so much cookie dough, he is sure to have a tummy ache. First we mixed all the ingredients using Ms. Marie's tea cake recipe. Then we rolled out the dough and cut out shapes.
Next we baked them in the oven. And, finally, we "colored" the cookies with icing.
Madelynn was intense on the coloring. 
Dean enjoyed cutting the shapes out, but was more interested in tasting the cookies than decorating them!
It was a fun project and they turned out pretty cute!!
